Samuel Jin
Samuel is a licensed acupuncturist working Berkeley Community Acupuncture. Samuel holds a degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania. After years of biology internships and research, Samuel attended the Wharton School of Business undergraduate program, becoming a market maker/trader on the Nasdaq exchange. Following a loss in the family, Samuel fortuitously stumbled upon acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Acupuncture's herbs, principles and teachings resonated deeply.
In the study and practice of this rich philosophy, Samuel found deeper balance. He believes acupuncture is an incredible art that allows him to live according to his inner truth.
Samuel is now available Wednesdays from 5pm-9pm
Rosemary Kim
Rosemary Kim is a licensed acupuncturist who studied at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland. Rosemary was first exposed to Eastern concepts of health while studying psychology. Her curiosity was further developed by witnessing the effectiveness of an herbalist affiliated with a martial arts school she was attending. She has previously served as an acupuncturist at the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic. By coming to Berkeley Community Acupuncture, Rosemary will be combining her interests in traditional Chinese medicine and community-based work.
Rosemary is available on Thursdays 10am-2pm.
Elisa Kim
Elisa Kim is a licensed acupuncturist and Bay Area native. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in psychology and music, she developed a deep interest in preventative medicine and medicinal herbology. This led her to study Traditional Chinese Medicine at ACCHS in Oakland. Elisa also works at a Chinese herb pharmacy and maintains a practice in Walnut Creek. She is excited to join BCA and grateful for the opportunity to share the beauty of Chinese medicine with her community.
Elisa is available on Mondays and Thursdays 4pm-8pm.
Thuy Nguyen
Thuy Nguyen is a licensed acupuncturist and mother of three wonderful children. Berkeley Community Acupuncture represents a culmination of her love of Chinese medicine, her commitment to family and community, and her desire to effect positive social change.
Prior to Berkeley Community Acupuncture, Thuy founded Wu-Wei Acupuncture and Healing Center . Thuy is a certified Medical Qigong Practitioner.
Thuy is available on Mondays and Fridays from 9am-1pm and Saturdays from 8am-12pm
Naandi Puja-Joy
Naandi Puja-Joy is a licensed acupuncturist with her M.S. in Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACCHS in Oakland. As a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine Naandi views the body, mind, and spirit as an integrative whole: each one has to be in balance to be in a state of good health. Along with a BA in Human Development, Naandi has a background massage and cosmetology. She specializes in pain management, women's health (PMS, menopause), facial rejuvenation, dermatology and stress management. She is dedicated to being your partner for health, and will always reserve a loving and compassionate space for you to heal and achieve total wellness.
Naandi is available every other Sundays 1pm-5pm and weekly Wednesdays 10am-2pm.
Tracy Richardson
Tracy Richardson is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist who manages the Herbal Dispensary at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA, where she graduated with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM). She is also employed with The Center for Elder Independence (CEI) as a Licensed Acupuncturist. Tracy also completed an East West Herbal Studies with Michael Tierra in 2005, and is now a Certified Professional Herbalist. In the spring of 2008, she became a Certified Medical Qi Gong practitioner, studying with Suzanne Friedman, L.Ac, DMQ.
She continues to work with Masters Intuition Medicine MIM, as well as a Professional Chef (working with special diets; Macrobiotic, Raw, Vegan, Vegetarian, as well as healthy omnivore creations). She provides macrobiotic counseling, and Tui Na massage. Her private practice includes offices in Fairfax and Berkeley.
Tracy is available Wednesdays 9am-1pm. She will begin Tuesday morning hours from 9am-1pm on December 27th.

Xuong Dang
Xuong Dang has been trained in various modalities of bodywork, including Rosen method and Tuina. The work offers Xuong a means for self discovery through one's body and mind. A session offers a chance to feel the pulse of life coursing through the body in the body, a chance to let it all settle down … as a pebble settle in the sandy bed of a stream.
Xuong is available Wednesdays 9am-2pm.
Gaidi Nkruma
Gaidi is a certified CA state Tuina Massage Therapist and Medical Qigong Practitioner. Completing his studies at both ACCHS and A.I.M.C. respectively.
Gaidi incorporates the principles of Tai Chi and Qigong within his Tuina bodywork to give a vigorous Qi moving and healing experience to the clients of BCA.
Gaidi is available on Wednesdays, 5pm-9pm.
Aline Prentice
Aline Prentice is a certified acupressurist trained at the Acupressure Institute, with a focus on Tui Na. Constantly in awe of the power of acupressure to balance body, mind, and spirit, she is passionate about making this beautiful and profound healing art accessible to the community and co-founded a community acupressure clinic in Berkeley. She enjoys working with both the more active styles of Tui Na and quiet, restorative acupressure flows.
Aline is available Mondays 9am-1pm.
Min Thorne
Min Thorne received her Acupressure certification at Berkeley's Acupressure Institute. She practices an intuitively guided blend of Tui Na, reflexology and gently balancing Jin Shin energy flows. Her style can be applied in an active and energizing way or in a softer and more nurturing session depending on your needs.
Min was originally drawn to the Asian healing arts to counterbalance the long hours and short deadlines of her computer-based career. The deeply restorative effects of the massages and acupuncture sessions she was receiving opened her mind to a new world of possibilities. She now can't imagine life without it and enthusiastically seeks to share its benefits with any-and-everyone she can.
Min Thorne is available Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-1pm

Lauren Kaneko-Jones
Lauren Kaneko-Jones is the Office Manager at BCA. She is currently working on her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley. She traveled to China in April of 2010 to learn some of Dermatology, Gynecology and Neurology techniques used overseas. Lauren is also in the process of working on her Medical QiGong certification with Suzanne Friedman LAc.
Each year of growth in technical and abstract knowledge of the Chinese Medicine, helps her develop into the practitioner she aspires to be. Meanwhile she works on keeping BCA growing and running smoothly.
